San Antonio, TX

Friday March 18, 2005

     7:00am I just woke up.

8:40am  I am leaving the house. I didn't do much this morning. I took my last good resin hit. Oh yeah, I burned like four CD's. I'm going to go hand them out.

Actually, I forgot to do my stretches. I'm going to go back in the house.

8:48am  I am leaving the house. I'm going to do the power line trail. I'm going to walk a lot today.

8:58am  I'm behind the tennis courts now. Behind the Braun Station West clubhouse. Across the street from Braun Station Elementary. I'm scanning for balls.

                   Damnit, no tennis balls anywhere.

9:18am  I walked the power line trail to that spot I wrecked my mountain bike years ago. It's a neighborhood now. But it used to the woods. Behind Village in the Woods.

     9:27am  About to cross Mainland.

9:38am  I'm on Heath Lane. About to cross into the woods here. Next to this school. I'll go hop a fence to get right behind the construction yard.

Heath Lane to the right, Low Bid Lane to the left.

I just ran into three deer.

9:45am  I'm behind the construction yard now. I'm going to cut through it again.

9:49am  I was walking behind the construction yard here. I saw a spigot out here wasting water. I came over and tried to turn it off, but it was hard. It was still gushing water after I turned it all the way. I grabbed my trusty Mary Jane tool. My little pliers tool that I got from Mary Jane(2-7-04, 4:10pm, second paragraph). I turned it off.

Oh yeah, and this morning I had a bowl of cereal. My Cocoa Dyno Bytes and a banana for breakfast. I have a banana in my bag for later.

10:25am  Crossing underneath Grissom Road. I am in the creek.

Ugh, a skunk just crossed my path. He better not squirt me.

Nasty, I can smell it. He sprayed somewhere around here. Marking his territory.

Man, Devil's Den is such a cool place. I should come here more often.

Be sure to remind myself that I made my initial release on 3-15-05. The Ides of March, 2005. That's my last burn-date. The last update I've had to my webpage. This is when I feel it is ready.

I'm almost to Ingram. I'm playing with the idea of going over to Tio Frankies. In front of Holmes High School. See if they'll hook me up again.

I'm going to go hit up Casa Real. The flavor of Mexico.

11:21am  Hussein at Casa Real is hooking me up with some food so I can walk downtown. I appreciate it, Hussein. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

I sat down on the sidewalk and ate. Now I'm ready for my walk downtown.

11:34am  I am walking in front of Holmes High School.

11:47am  Turning left on Callaghan. I want to hit Bandera and go downtown.

No, I changed my mind. Turning right on Callaghan. I'll hit Culebra and go downtown.

I turned on this street in some neighborhood because I saw a sign for a garage sale. There wasn't much. I'm just going to keep walking.

I found me a red bouncy ball on the ground. I'm going to put it in my pocket.

Oh yeah, I never mentioned but yesterday I played Frisbee with three other people at Travis Park. It was fun.

I walked down Fermi, I think. The street the garage sale is on.

I'm at Fermi and Darwin. Turning right on Darwin.

12:02pm  Guess what street I ended up on. Hemphill. Turning left. Hemphill and Darwin.

Over by Hemphill and Alston I found a power line trail. A power line alley.

The little power line alley dead ended real quick. I came right back. Some people came out in the back yard because the dogs were all barking. Hmm, over by Chesterhill I see another entrance to it. I'm going to go see if it keeps going.

12:15pm  Back on Hemphill. The power lines go along Hemphill here.

12:35pm  Hemphill tees at Broadview. Shit, I need batteries bad. These are going to run out soon. This sucks.

Screw Broadview, I'm going to keep going straight. Along the power lines.

Cool, I found a couple abandoned buildings out here. Cool.

I ended up on some street. I don't know what it is. I'll tell you when I find out.

It was Marquette. I'm going to keep walking straight on Marquette.

Ended up on Maiden. Going to turn right on Maiden.

Hey, there's a ditch right here. I'm going to follow the ditch.

There's an alley that keeps going after the ditch. I'm going to keep going.

There's a house back here with a badass painting of a sun on the back.

It's got a big bus in the driveway.

12:44pm  I ended up over by V.W. Keefe Stadium. Where they have baseball games. Over by St. Mary's, I think. I'm going to keep walking in the alley.

12:47pm  I just passed another street. I don't know what it is. Just another street.

12:51pm  I kept going down the alley, but it got all thick and dense. I doubled back. I'm back out on Marquette. I looked to the right after I double backed out of that alley and I saw a stop light for Woodlawn. I'm going to go to Woodlawn.

     12:58pm  Turning right on Woodlawn.

Sylvano me dio un cigaro en Woodlawn. Te lo agradezco, Sylvano.

I just bummed me a cigarette. I was going to try and stop. I'm not going to smoke it.

Tell you what. Maybe I'll smoke it when I get downtown.

I'm going to cheat. I'm a big disappointment, man.

I was able to bum a light off a guy in front of Lawnwood Apartments. I sat down in the shade and smoked my cigarette.

1:20pm  About to pass Bandera. I'm on Woodlawn.

1:30pm  Walking in front of the Assumption Seminary. 2600 W Woodlawn.

I turned left on Germania for no reason whatsoever. I'm going to take a quick right on Mistletoe.

2:00pm I told my story to these two young girls. Lilly and Adrianna. Over on Mistletoe and Emery. They listened to me. I'm going to keep walking Mistletoe.

I just told those two girls my whole odyssey story. One girl told me, "Thanks for telling me. Now I know we don't need money." That's the exact reaction I want from people.

2:10pm  I am in Woodlawn Park. Perfect publicity.

2:19pm  These ignorant kids wouldn't listen to my story. Damn the ignorance in this world.

2:28pm  I'm telling these two kids my story at Woodlawn Lake. phillipiscool_007@yahoo.com

2:47pm  I just talked to Phillip and Ashley. I told them my whole odyssey at Woodlawn Lake. They're both sixteen years old.

2:51pm  I'm going to turn left on San Antonio Street.

3:10pm  I'm going to hit up Garcia's Mexican Food. Shit, it's closed.

I'm on Fredericksburg now. Turning left on W Ashby. I'm going to go to the tennis courts at SAC and get some tennis balls.

Whoa cool, way before SAC I ran into the McFarlin Tennis Center. There's gotta be a ball around here somewhere.

It's all locked up. That sucks.

Cool, I see three balls on the ground on the other side of the courts.

3:35pm  I had a great harvest at these tennis courts. I didn't get inside the courts, and I still got tons of balls. See, they have this big fence and there were some balls stuck up on the top of the fence. I climbed up there and scaled it back and forth. If I would have fallen I would've hurt myself, bad. Hold on, let me count them.

Nine balls! Now I don't even have to go to SAC. Hmm, maybe I'll go look around for that Mr. Badrich guy(3-24-04, 1:13pm).

Great quote on a bench here at SAC. "If you would rise from sleep, leave the market arguing, and learn that your essence is your wealth." - Rumi

3:55pm  I'm going to hit up Cristan's Tacos.

3:57pm  Frank, at Cristan's Tacos is hooking me up. I appreciate it, Frank. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

I scored two tacos at Cristan's and I'm walking to Travis Park now.

4:29pm  Man, 4:20 came and went and I didn't get smoked out. I walked all the way downtown from Tezel and Guilbeau, like twenty miles and I was really hoping I would get some weed somewhere. Then Robert just hooked me up with a hit for my one-hitter. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

4:37pm  I went up to these two girls in Travis Park, in the center. I hit them up for my story and they told me, "Well, we were kind of in a conversation." I told them to do me the couple favors. Then I asked them where they were from. They told me, "New York." I thought, "Oh shit, the ignorant coast." I told them, "Welcome to San Antonio."

4:40pm  This girl, I don't know, she might be a guy. I hit her up for my story and she told me no. Then I walked past and this lady saw me talking into my recorder. I tell her, "Well then, can I tell you my story?" She told me, "You've already talked to me before." I laughed and told her, "Well, I'm still at it." I'm waiting for the 91 to come.

4:49pm  This girl just walked by. I gave her the usual, "Can I tell you a really interesting story? I'm not asking for anything. I just want you to listen. It's a free story." I reeled her back real good. She seemed really interested and let me get all the way through, "They didn't call them peace pipes for nothing," and then walked away telling me, "Take it easy, man." She had told me she just got out of the penitentiary.

4:51pm  Eric hooked me up with a cigarette at Travis Park. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

5:25pm  I just got off at Oaklawn. I'm going to go visit my friends at the tree at Sage Crossing. I want to go smoke some weed. I was thinking I'm going to walk home from West Telemarketing tonight.

6:52pm  Haha, I just had a funny presentation with these Mormons walking around the apartments. They walked off real quick. It got to the point where they were telling me, "It's our turn. Let us talk." To that I told them, "I'm a person just like you, but I have better things to do. I am right and I hate wasting my time." I told them the spirits part.

I'm having fun today. I'm having lots of fun. On my way to save the world.

8:15pm  I walked up to the Chevron on Oaklawn and Fredericksburg. I'm waiting for the bus. I'm going to see if I can get a courtesy ride to West.

8:20pm  6158 told me no. I was just testing you. You failed!

I didn't get a courtesy ride on the 92. Then I thought, "I should check my transfer stash." I have an F and I don't even have to trim it. Perfect.

8:44pm  There's the 91 finally. I see it down the street. Shit, it's the 602.

The 92 lady told me the 91 was only a minute behind her. That's boooshit.

8:58pm  Ha, another 92 came. I asked the driver, "Hey, can I get a courtesy ride to the hospital, so I'll be able to use my transfer when the 91 comes?" He told me, "The 91 is right behind me." I told him, "That's what the other guy said and I've been waiting forever." He tells me, "Well, you always ask me for rides." I told him to just forget it.

9:12pm  The 91 finally came. Man, I waited a long time for the bus. Like about an hour.

9:37pm  I am at West Telemarketing. I'm going to walk to the parking lot and see if I can get a ride to Babcock.

10:11pm  I'm at Prue and Babcock. I walked all the way from West. I'm going to go see if my friend is here at Subway and see if he'll hook me up again. I'll give him a CD. If not, Pizza Hut.

My friend wasn't there at the Subway and the greedy ass dude working wouldn't hook it up. He told me, "I can't hook you up, man. They count the breads." Liar.

10:18pm  Hehe, I guilted my mom into picking me up. Nobody was hooking me up with food and I was hungry. I didn't want to walk all the way home. Screw it, I'll just call my mom. She answered and she was all, "I'm making a cake right now. I'm real busy, you're going to have to find a ride." I told her, "It's not that far, mom. Just Prue and Babcock." "I guess I'll just go crash in the woods. I'm too tired to walk and I couldn't score any food," I told her. I could've made it all the way there, but she ended up picking me up, like I knew she would, hehe.

10:35pm  I walked down Prue and my mom eventually came. I thought she wasn't going to come. I was going to walk all the way home. Come to think of it, I'm all up for the walk home. I shouldn't have called her at all. I should've just walked.

If she starts bitching at me I'm going to tell her, "Don't get mad at me because you chose to pick me up."

Next day..
