San Antonio, TX

Monday March 28, 2005

     6:50am I just woke up.

7:25am  I am leaving the house. I don't know what I'm going to do today. Let's see, I have to go to the dentist. I have to go see about this computer job. I don't know. I'm going to walk to, I don't know. I need a compass for my walking stick and I don't have two dollars. Shit, I forgot my water bottle. I'm going to go back.

     7:28am  I left again.

I think I'm going to walk to Walmart and ask for spare change for my compass. I'm going back to the house again to get some crazy glue. I want to have a compass on my stick.

Please Love, let me have a good day today.

7:53am  I walked down Braun Road to Camino Villa. To the tennis courts. I already see a ball on the other side of the fence. Awesome.

Cool, found another one in the trashcan.

8:00am  I just entered OP Schnabel.

8:15am  I walked over to the Walmart. Connie, not only let me look at her transfer for the letter of the day, she gave me some change for my compass. I appreciate it, Connie. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

8:27am  I was telling Connie my story when this girl Danielle gets off the bus and walks over towards us. She walks up and says, "Victor, Victor, Victor . . ." She said that she had been on the bus one day and heard all these people talking about me. I told her, "Yeah, I'm the talk of the town." She goes, "You are the talk of the town." That's so funny.

Danielle gave me a dollar for my compass. I appreciate it, Danielle.

8:39am  I put my compass on my stick and I'm walking now. That was cool with that girl Danielle. I had counted all the change that Connie had given me and I needed a quarter to have two dollars. I asked Danielle if she had a quarter. She said, "I don't have a quarter but you can have a dollar." She told me that just this morning she had been having all these problems with money and she actually said, "Where's Victor when you need him?" Then she got off the bus and there I was.

She told me, "Everybody's talking about you. You're the talk of the town."

Like I say, what more do I need to motivate me?

8:42am  I'm going to go hit up Tacos Ricos. Across Bandera from the Walmart.

8:45am  Stephanie at Tacos Ricos is hooking me up with some food. I appreciate it, Stephanie. Everybody gets credit.

I got three tacos! She didn't even understand my line. She just said, "Oh, you need some food?" I'm going to walk to Bandera and Eckhert and eat this.

9:03am  I finished eating my tacos. I got three of them. They were all a different kind. I had a bean and cheese one. Not refried beans, they were whole beans. I had a beef and potato one and a carne guisada one too. I'm full. I'm going to walk to the computer shop. Hopefully there's somebody there.

I hope they don't think I was unpunctual because I didn't come in the other day at two.

They told me to come by tomorrow at nine in the morning. I'm going to walk to the Medical Center and get my dentist appointment or something. I don't know.

I just cut through Marshall High School. Right in front of it. I'm going to walk on Bluebird Drive over to Huebner. Then I'll go to the Medical Center from there.

                   I'm on Applegreen right now.

9:16am  Turning right on North Knoll.

9:20am  Turning right on Oakdell Way.

9:28am  I am at Lamb and Babcock.

9:38am  I am walking through the VA Hospital parking lot. I'm cutting through to the bus transfer center. Then I'll walk to the dental school.

9:47am  I'm coming up on the dental school.

9:50am  I went to the dental school and they just gave me some paper with a number to call. She told me to call on Friday.

9:54am  I walked back in the dental school to use the restroom. I'm walking to Crossroads.

I'm going to walk through the Oak Hills Country Club again, hehe.

10:05am  I scored three extra tennis balls at the country club. They were on the other side of the court fence.

     10:09am  Coming out on Fredericksburg.

I'm going to go see if my friend Joe(4-26-04 and 4-28-04, 5:25pm and 5-5-04, 6:32pm) still lives at Eagles Nest Apartments(5211 Fredericksburg).

     10:12am  Guess not. Guess not.

     10:18am  Cutting through Warren Inn.

10:21am  Nobody is at the tree. I'm going to go check Justin's apartment. Justin and Samantha.

     10:30am  Jennifer's got a funny story. What's up, Jennifer?

Jennifer: "Check it out. Me and my boyfriend had been together for about three or four months. He decided to go through Bandera, TX to come and get me. He gets down here and we went to a motel room. We were getting intimate and everything and he says, "Let's roll." We've never rolled together(taken ecstasy). So anyway, I go to put it in my mouth and he busts out with a rubber glove and some Vaseline. He tells me, "The best way to roll is by putting it up your butt." So I'm standing there watching him bend over and putting this shit up his butt. I take it orally, not anusly. I am not anal-retentive. But anyway, he puts the shit up his butt."

11:40am  I got smoked out finally. For all the walking I did. See, I walk on reward-basis. Jeremy smoked me out over at Renaissance Parc. I appreciate it, brother.

11:12am  Evan is going to freestyle on my recorder. Here you go.

                     Evan couldn't do it.

11:45am  I had a good nice rest at Renaissance Parc. I got smoked out. Since I got smoked out I thought, "Screw it, I'm going to walk all the way downtown." I had originally thought to ride the bus.

I never mentioned. There's an E-Trade Online.com place here in Crossroads Mall. America's Premier Online Trading School. There's all these people sitting there in front of computers. Look it up online. http://i-tradeonline.com

11:46am  Oh my gawd, I was walking down the sidewalk on Fredericksburg, and ran face first into the Mazda sign. I hit my nose on the Mazda sign. I'm all stoned.

Carlos saw me run into that sign from the other side of the street. He called over. I didn't recognize him at first. We shot the shit for a little bit. I'm going to go say hi to Melissa and give her a hug. It'll be a love-charge for my walk. She gives me the greatest hugs.

I'm going to see if Lorenzo's there and maybe he'll smoke me out.

     12:00pm  What happened again, Lorenzo?

Lorenzo: "So me and my friend's, we got busted downtown. We ran like a light or whatever. The cops searched us and I had a dimebag. They took me to jail. When we were getting processed in, me and my friend Joe were sitting down in the cell. I was sitting there thinking, "What would Victor do in this position?" Then my friend Joe says, "Hey, check that out." I looked up over the doorway and I thought, "What the fuck?! No fucking way!" It was so fucking awesome. It said, "VICTOR THE LIBERATOR."

That's what I put it there for! Through county jail let it be known! The man who spends his life on a mission, he's legendary. That's not the first time someone has told me they've seen that(3-9-05, 2:29pm).

1:35pm  I left Lorenzo's. We smoked weed. Perfect, perfect. I'm walking downtown.

1:41pm  I was walking and Teo recognized me. In front of the convenience store.

1:57pm  I'm passing Vance Jackson. I'm walking downtown. On Fredericksburg.

Oh yeah, at first Lorenzo had told me he would go downtown with me, so I could show him my statue. He hooked me up with two dollars for bus fare. I am going to walk downtown, so my reward for my walk will be a hotdog. Or I could buy some weed. I don't know. I'll think about it.

There's this place called Diego's Burritos. Right next to Mi Guadalajara.

They still haven't opened yet. They're still doing construction on it.

I am getting some awesome publicity right here on Fredericksburg in the Deco District. All these cars are backed up. The traffic is crazy. I'm walking through and everybody is waving back, giving me the peace sign. Everyone is staring at me.

Next time I tell my stories to Mormons I'll tell them at the end, "I gave you annoying bastards a taste of your own medicine, didn't I?"

Oh yeah, it was awesome how Lorenzo saw my Victor the Liberator tag in jail. I should have told him, "Man, that's music to my ears." I cannot believe they haven't scraped it off.

Screw a hotdog. I'm going to go eat at the Salvation Army at 5:30. I can get some weed.

Everybody is staring at me today.

I was almost downtown and J. A. Dean hooked me up with a ride to Travis Park. I appreciate it, brother.

3:00pm  I'm downtown. I just got off the bus. I had just walked right before the bus stop and I turned around and saw the bus was almost there. I thought, "Hmm, I'm almost downtown. Let me hit him up." When the bus pulled up I asked him for a courtesy ride to Travis Park. He told me, "I don't go do Travis Park." I tell him, "Yeah, you do. You're the 92." He said, "Oh yeah, I forgot." I just stepped on the bus.

4:36pm  I had a badass presentation at the 9/14 bus stop right next to Jefferson Bank in front of the park. Right next to the enemy. These kids told me they wouldn't do me the two favors.

I had a pretty good time in Travis Park. A lot of people recognized me. Oh yeah, I ran into Teo. Teo is always telling tall tales. He ran into this guy from Chicago. They were shooting the shit and they knew certain people from there.

What time is it guys? See, this morning when I got in the shower, I got in with my watch. I took it off and dropped it on the floor and the back plate came off. I put it on there, but I think it's broken. It's 6:55 right now. I've been reading two hours behind all morning long.

7:53pm  I'm talking to Desiree here in Travis Park. What's your email? wolf357@fmgirl.com

I wasn't sure if I was going to catch the bus back to Lorenzo's and see if I could crash there. Then I met this pretty girl sitting in the park. She leant me the best ear. I followed her to these apartments on Randolph Blvd on the Northeast side of town. She wants me to tell her friend my story. It's getting chilly.

8:25pm  Desiree brought me over to Chris' apartment. What's your email, Chris? orbish68@yahoo.com

10:35pm  Desiree brought me over to apartment 816 and I'm telling Ron and his daughter my story. She saw me at Folkfest in Kerrville(6-4-04, 2:05pm). I'm everywhere. I'm telling them my story. Ron gave me a cigarette. I appreciate it, brother.

10:42pm  Oh man, what a magical night I've had. I ended up all the way out here on the Northeast side of town. Randolph Blvd. There was this beautiful girl Desiree at Travis Park. I told her my story and she said, "You have to come tell my friend your story." I came and told her friend. I forgot his name. I'm at the entrance of the apartments, leaving. I'm going to walk to the Randolph Park and Ride and hope there is still a bus going downtown. I'm going to go crash on the front porch of the house on Dallas Street that I know about. Hopefully I'll get downtown tonight. Courtesy ride.

The apartments I was at are called The Amberton. 6000 whatever street this is.

I have to turn left and walk straight to the park and ride. Past Weidner.

Oh yeah, and that girl Desiree. She was this cute hippie girl. She told me she had seen me over at the Diamond Shamrock by Sam's Burger Joint that one night that I met those two girls who took me their apartment(4-19-04, 12:20am, next day too). She said she had hooked me up with some weed that night.

Still walking down Randolph Blvd. I'm walking southwest on Randholph.

Oh yeah, I got to put my webpage on her ex boyfriend's computer. He told me he would read it all.

     11:01pm  Passing Royal Ridge Road.

11:17pm  I have arrived at Randolph Park and Ride. There's no buses. I hope there's still some going downtown.

11:57pm  My watch is all wrong.

It's almost eleven, if my watch is right. I just got off on Losoya and Alamo Plaza. There's this cool red curly-q, this big sculpture. I felt like going for a walk, so I got off the bus. I'm going to stop and change into my thermals.

12:17am  Walking by the Travis Park Church. "Whatsoever a man soweth - that shall he also reap."

Walked Navarro past the library. Turning right on Dallas Street. This is the way to go if I remember right.

I made my way to the front porch of that house on Dallas. Nobody is here. I'm going to put my poncho down and go to sleep.

Next day..
